I enjoyed this project a lot! I was able to do this all on a program on my Laptop with a Bamboo IdeaPad. The program i used is called Paint-Tool SAI and is used for a lot of projects like this. I wasn't able to get the best photos of my project but i made due with what i had. I have three separate pictures taken at different points in my drawing and coloring processes. The character is drew is Pearl from Steven Universe and she is a very gentle, elegant character so i decided to give her a peaceful look in the serene setting of a calm outer space.

This was my 1-Point Perspective. We drew horizontal ad vertical lines all connecting to one focus point in the center of the paper. I drew a small bit of a small town with what looks to be an apartment building and a grocery store. There is also a horizon line in the back and a road leading to the focus point in the back. The side of the store says, 『たべて』(Tabete), or Eat!
With this project we painted wine bottles in a style of our own. As usual i decided to take an Anime/Manga approach on mine. I drew a character, Juuzo Suzuya, from a show i watch, Tokyo Ghoul. The Japanese Hiragana on the right side of the picture says 『おやすみなさい』
BatikMy batik is is of a hand catching flower petals from a Cherry-Blossom tree. The hand looks like it is coming out of the darkness and into the light with the pink/red flowers. I am almost taking it as nature being a healing aspect to life and making someones bad day a lot better because nature can just be so beautiful.
In this project we had two days to study and draw/shade drapes on a stool. I decided to leave the stool out of my drawing and focus only on the drapery covering it. I enjoyed drawing for this project because it was quite simple once i broke it down into simple shapes and sections. The shading came quite easily as well, i just chose a direction of light and put shadows where they belonged and highlights where they belonged.
With this project we were given pairs and were to paint them onto a sheet of paper, painted to look as though it is on three different surfaces. We used various techniques we've learned throughout the year (shading, values, ect.) to create the drawings and make them look as realistic as possible and give the feel of three separate images.
The linoleum block project was one of the most strenuous projects I had to do this year. It took a lot of effort and a lot of precision to carve away at the linoleum block to the picture i had drawn on top of it. After carving the picture into the block of linoleum I then rolled various inks on top of the linoleum and pressed it onto paper, like a stamp!
Unlike other students i did not do a self portrait, but i did still do a portrait. This project was a challenge for me because i am not used to drawing realistic people whatsoever. I mainly practice in drawing manga and drawing realistic people was a great challenge for me, but i over came it, sort of!
With this project we built our own figurines and drew them with pencils on a paper, then shaded them according to the lighting that was provided to give us a better understanding of values with shading.
I got the idea for my mask from the main character from an anime, Tokyo Ghoul. With this project I created an original "copy" of the mask the main character wears in the show. I am not good with paints, as i stated in a recent post, so I also developed my skills as an artist.
This project was one of my favorites and most well done. I really enjoyed drawing the hands interacting, shading and coloring in the blood as well. I got the idea for this scene of a hand dripping blood into a hand catching it from the anime Kyoukai no Kanata (Beyond The Boundary).
With our shaded hand we learned about the different shades we could make with a pencil. I could have used darker lines and/or darker spots in my shading along with lighter spots. Overall, I'm happy with how it came out!
With our contour hands we collaborated to get ideas for our hands positions. Also, we developed our skills as artist because we had to draw our hands in different positions without looking at what we were drawing.
In this project we tested to see how well we use the right side of our brains. We developed our art skills, learning how to use the right side of our brain.
In my watercolor project i was collaborating with my friends on ideas and critique. Also, i was able develop my skills in water color, which i am not very good at. And, I created this originally. The day went great! we all worked together and collaborated with one another to create magnificent sculptures out of balloons. |
